Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta kicking off in early August

1 min read

Treyarch has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will receive two betas prior to the game’s launch on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One this autumn.

The first taster for the upcoming military first-person shooter drops in August, and will give you a chance to test out the traditional multiplayer experience. Here, you can check out six maps and five different game modes: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Control, and Search & Destroy.

PlayStation 4 owners will be first to dive into the beta on August 3, with PC and Xbox One players following the next weekend. The full schedule is as follows:

PS4: August 3 – 6 / PS4 and Xbox One: August 10 – 13 / PC Early Access: August 10 / PC Open Beta: August 11 – 13

Those of you who participate will also receive a special Calling Card that you can show off to all your mates for bragging rights.

Finally, September will see the developer roll out another Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta, this time focusing on the all-new battle royale game mode, Blackout. Not much is known about this yet, but it’ll again come to PS4 before any other format.

‘The team has been having a ridiculous amount of fun playing it internally. We are so excited to be able to share that fun with you in September. The community feedback generated from going hands-on is always incredibly important, and it’s never been more so than with Blackout,’ said Yale Miller, senior producer at Treyarch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will launch on October 12.

Comic-Con 2018: Best Marvel Cosplay From SDCC

Comic-Con 2018: Best Marvel Cosplay From SDCC

It’s often hard to believe how big Marvel has become in recent years. This comes thanks in part to Marvel Studios films, which has made its world of comic book superheroes a pop-culture phenomenon by fostering a massive audience. With so many Marvel fans out there, you can be sure that many of them are gathered at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 dressed as their favorite characters.

Within the first couple days of SDCC 2018, we’ve already seen a ton of amazing Marvel cosplay. Attendees from all walks of life come to the public event dressed as some of the company’s most iconic characters. There was a wide variety of cosplay this year with people coming dressed as versions of characters from both the films and comics.

You’ll find cosplay of Marvel’s most popular heroes, like Wolverine and Deadpool, as well as the more obscure characters, like Kaecillius. There’s a lot to see, so be sure to check out all of the photos ahead and tells us which you like the best. You can also check out all the best cosplay from day one and day two of SDCC 2018.

While Marvel was expected to not have a big presence at SDCC 2018, the show has technically yielded some news. One of the biggest Marvel stories is Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn being fired by Disney after a series of controversial tweets from his past were resurfaced. In a statement concerning the termination, Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said, “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.” Gunn was expected to appear at a Sony panel this year, but he ultimate was not present.

In other Marvel-related news, Stan Lee recently made an unexpected cameo in a non-Marvel property; it should come as a surprise for long-time fans. And on the SDCC 2018 show floor, we spotted a massive statue of Thanos made entirely of Lego blocks.

SDCC 2018 has yielded a plethora of exciting announcements around the latest seasons of big TV shows, like The Walking Dead, Star Trek Discovery, and Better Call Saul, as well as debut trailers for new shows, like DC’s Titans and the TV adaptation of George RR Martin’s sci-fi story, Nightflyers. Resident Evil 2’s Cover Channels Classic Key Art

0 min read

Resident Evil 2, the anticipated survival horror remake announced just weeks ago at E3 2018, hosted a prominent panel at San Diego Comic Con earlier today, where Capcom revealed the box art for the title. The image, which shows protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield standing back-to-back, is clearly inspired by a classic piece of key art from the original PSone release.

The publisher also announced a Collector’s Edition, which comes packaged in a case inspired by the series’ iconic Item Boxes. It includes a copy of the game, as well as a 12-inch Leon figurine, an artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a poster featuring design blueprints for the Raccoon Police Department. You’ll also get some in-game DLC, including a soundtrack swap featuring the title’s original music.

Unfortunately, the Collector’s Edition will be exclusive to GameStop and EB Games, and will retail for an eye-watering $199.99. It’s a pretty cool package, but that’s a bit pricey as far as we’re concerned. What do you reckon? Will you be plumping up for the premium edition, or just sticking to the standard version? Gobble down some green herbs in the comments section below.

Stardew Valley’s multiplayer update has a release date

0 min read

Developer ConcernedApe (that’s an awesome name for a dev, by the way) has confirmed that the multiplayer update for Stardew Valley will drop on August 1.

The feature has been a long time coming and has been doing the rounds in beta form for months now, although it won’t arrive on PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One versions until a later date.

Oh, and PlayStation Vita won’t receive the update at all, which is a bit of a shame since it only came out a few months ago on Sony’s handheld.

Multiplayer in Stardew Valley pretty much does what it says on the tin. You can invite up to three mates to join you on your farm, where they’ll set up shop in a cabin and act as farmhands.

While your buddies can perform all the usual tasks such as farming and mining, you can even cobble together a wedding ring and marry one of your friends if you’re feeling in the mood. There’s also a chat box, custom emojis, and the ability to tweak the game’s difficulty.

If you’re on PC and are getting bored growing the same old crops, then there’s always this new mod that lets you grow and sell weed.
